Token Economy Systems for RBTS
There are no affiliations with companies, products, and/ or services featured during this CEU/PDU/Workshop event.
Token economies are one of the most practical, evidence-based tools RBTs use to strengthen skills and increase motivation when they are set up and implemented correctly. In this training, you will learn what token economies are (and what they are not), why they work, and how to run them cleanly and consistently in real sessions. You will also get a clear seven-part framework for building or understanding a token system, plus troubleshooting strategies for common problems like tokens losing value, inconsistent delivery, or exchange-time meltdowns, so your token board supports learning instead of turning into a daily power struggle.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
-
Define token economy, token, conditioned reinforcer, and backup reinforcer.
-
Identify the 7 essential components of a token economy in a case vignette.
-
Describe at least 3 common implementation errors (for example, weak pairing, inconsistent delivery, price too high) and state a supervisor-appropriate fix.
-
Understand correct token delivery that is immediate, includes a specific behavior label, and uses neutral affect.
-
Select appropriate data points for monitoring (for example, token delivery integrity, target behavior frequency, exchange participation).
